🧼 8 things you probably need to clean

Hi Reader!

It feels like a good time to reset.

Not a pull-everything-out-of-the-closets, spend-all-weekend-cleaning kind of reset. Just tackling a few of those spots that quietly collect grime while we’re busy cleaning everything else.

So today, I’m rounding up eight of my cleaning tutorials for the things that are really easy to forget about - plus two printables that can help you keep the whole house on track.

🧺 Start With the Appliances

These are things we use constantly, which means they can get surprisingly gross without us noticing.

Open microwave with a bowl inside, ready for steam cleaning. Oven racks soaking with dryer sheets to loosen baked-on grease and grime.
White clothes dryer in a laundry room ready for deep cleaning. Hand wiping the inside of a top-loading washing machine with a microfiber cloth.

🧼 Then Tackle the Surfaces We Forget

A few spots around the house need their own cleaning method, especially when you’re working with materials that require a little extra care.

Tile floor with cleaning supplies ready to tackle stained grout lines. Close-up of clean, polished granite countertops with a speckled finish.
Hand scrubbing a cast iron cooking surface with a sponge and coarse salt. Clean white porcelain kitchen sink with a dark faucet and granite countertop.

🗓️ Make the Cleaning Routine Easier

Knowing how to clean all of this is only half the battle.

Remembering to actually do it? That’s where a routine helps.

💡 Quick Cleaning Tip

Don’t look at this list and decide you need to clean all eight things this weekend.

Pick one.

Clean the microwave while you’re already working in the kitchen. Do the washing machine before starting your next load. Add the dryer to your next laundry-room clean.

Those little jobs are much easier to keep up with when they’re worked into your normal routine instead of becoming one giant cleaning project.

A cleaner house usually isn’t about doing more - it’s about having a good system for remembering the little things.

And if you find yourself thinking, “Wait...when was the last time I cleaned that?” - maybe that’s the one to start with. 😉
